The Damaging Statistics On Car Prangs

November 22, 2019 By Chris Frew Leave a Comment

Hello and welcome to our blog here at Dent Magnet, the No 1 vehicle dent repair service in the whole of Northern Ireland. Today we share with you some startling statistics on how many cars suffer prangs and dents that could definitely use our services if only they knew of us!

Pranging Your Pride And Joy

These are statistics from last year, but they reveal that nearly a third of people who buy a brand spanking new car are involved in some sort of collision within the first 2 months of ownership. And this adds up to an annual repair bill of over £400 million.

The statistics by car crash management firm Accident Exchange revealed that approximately 10% of all accidents involved new cars, you would have thought we would maybe take more care of a new car but this suggests otherwise. This amounted to an astonishing 196,000 vehicles between March 2015 to the end of February 2016.

Explaining these high accident figures for new cars an Accident Exchange spokesman said: ‘Early damage to newly registered vehicles can be a result of a number of factors.

‘New cars are packed with technology, which can be distracting, while mobile phone use at the wheel continues to be a problem.

‘The more complex controls required to accommodate this new technology can be largely unfamiliar. And new cars can be more powerful, even though the engine size remains the same.’

‘The number of cars on the road is also a factor; each year more and more cars are registered and they are increasingly large in size making them more difficult to manoeuvre, especially into smaller car-parking spaces.’

Although these figures are 12 months old it is highly likely that they will not be significantly different during the last 12 months.

Using Dent Magnet To Repair Your Car

Now when you purchase a new car you often have some sort of deal whereby you will go back to where you bought the car to get it repaired which is absolutely fine of course. But for any older car, or someone who has a new one and does not have any contract in place, the best place to get in touch with is us here at Dent Magnet (that is if you are in Northern Ireland). We will get the car looking like new once again for you, and not only that we can repair it at your home if required. Our Dent Repairs Bring Vehicles Back To Perfect Condition

November 12, 2019 By Chris Frew Leave a Comment

Hello and welcome to our blog post here at Dent Magnet. We hope you like the name of our website as it really sums up what people in the main say to us when they phone us up! They ask us to remove the dent on their vehicle and that is exactly what we do each and every time. By the way it isn’t just dents that we can get rid of.

Why Do People Use Our Services

Some people we have to admit are quite happy to drive around in a car with a dent on the bonnet and car door, but fortunately for us they are very much in the minority! Most want to get their car repaired as quickly and with as little fuss and as little expense as possible and this is where we come in.

Our car dent removal services come in particularly handy when someone has a car which is coming to the end of its lease period and needs to be returned soon. If you send a car back to a lease company with dents that need repairing they will repair the dents themselves and send you a not inconsiderable bill!! This is not what you want so using our mobile dent repair service can save you an awful lot of money in these instances.

Repairing Your Car To Sell On

People also use our services when they want to sell their car and so want it in tip top condition to sell on. This was the case in the picture and video below, the customer wanted to sell this car to get a bigger car for his and his wife`s forthcoming new baby. The car can be seen in the picture with the dent and in the video below the picture with the dent fully removed and the car looking back in mint condition.

So as you can see we do a pretty fine job of removing any dents your car may have received. For more information on our services and to maybe book us in for an appointment you can give us a call on 0800 083 5270. I am sure you will be more than happy with the service we provide.

Repair Bills For Holiday Hire Cars Reach Outrageous Levels

November 12, 2019 By Chris Frew Leave a Comment

Extortionate Charges For A Tiny Windscreen Chip

There has been more news of bad practice regarding holiday hire cars as an investigation by consumer group Which? found that many of the hire companies were charging over 30 times what is the going rate for basic repairs to hire cars that have suffered a bang, dent or have some other issue. This follows on from the scandal uncovered a few months ago that we covered where it was claimed that car rental companies were charging customers hundreds of pounds to repair vehicles that never actually get fixed! This sort of behaviour is totally unacceptable and should be clamped down on immediately to prevent any more people getting ripped off by these unscrupulous companies.

The big car hire company Europcar have been caught up in the latest scandal, it is believed they charged a customer who rented a vehicle in France £1,154 to repair a tiny windscreen chip when it could have easily been fixed for around £35, which you have to admit is pretty terrible behaviour by the car hire giant. There were also instances of firms charging administration fees when a car needs repairing upwards of £120.

The Which! consumer group’s travel editor was quoted in a Sunday Times Driving Article as saying: “It’s outrageous that car hire customers are being made to pay extortionate amounts for repairs that never take place. If repairs are required, customers should be sent clear evidence of how the costs were calculated.”
