Now this is a very interesting concept and one that, if implemented worldwide, could put us out of business! We don`t think this is going to happen any time soon so we are happy to give you the details of a quite surreal car design which has airbags on the outside of it!
Unveiled At The Tokyo Motor Show
Toyoda Gosei unveiled this brand new concept at the Tokyo Motor Show, it is called the Flesby 11, and the outside of the car is covered in undulating airbags to stop the car getting dented or scratched. The airbags move with electrical power, and they can shape-shift so to give the car a whole new shape when required.
Talking about the car Takashi Ishikawa, managing officer of Toyoda Gosei Co, said: ‘We put airbags, which are mainly employed inside the car, on its exterior, such as its hood or fender, to protect the entire body.”
Not Available Until 2030
We think this is a very interesting idea and it certainly caught the eye of people who were at the Tokyo Motor Show, but we don`t think we will be having to dispense with our services just yet as this is just a prototype at the moment and it is not likely to be for sale before 2030 at the very earliest.
This is brilliantly innovative although I am sure there are a lot of practicalities to overcome before this actually comes to the marketplace in a decade or so, but we certainly applaud the cleverness of the design. But of course for the time being we still have to deal with vehicles that do unfortunately get dented and scratched on an infuriatingly regular basis, and the more cars there are on the roads the more this problem is exacerbated.
Which is where Dent Magnet come in of course. If you have only received minor dents on your vehicle we can come out to you and repair them in normally less than an hour. No need to take them to a body repair workshop we can repair them on your driveway (Northern Ireland only by the way). For more information on our dent repair services please give us a call on 0800 083 5270
